Claire & Jon's Spring WeddingClaire and Jon's wedding colour scheme was brown and white. |
They got married at St James and St Paul church in Marton, nr Congleton. They chose the church because everyone made them feel very welcome. The church is close to the wedding reception, is one of the oldest timber framed churches and very pretty.
"We chose Sandhole Oak Barn because the venue was different to other venues we had seen. The barn looks out over a large lake and has a decking area for the guests to sit (weather permitting). The barn allowed the guests to sit looking out over the lake during the meal and had enough space for all the guests and plenty of room for a dance floor."
The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown dresses from Monsoon, they were strapless with a netting over the top. Jon and the ushers wore brown suits with ivory shirts and cravettes. They also wore a waistcoat with a coffee coloured pattern. Claire wore a Maggie Sotterro dress which had a corset style top, decorated with crystals and beads. The skirt was A-line with a chapel train. She also wore a tiara and silver jewellery.
Claire's bouquet was made of Cymbidiums - white with pink in the centre. It also had decorating it brown leaves to match the bridesmaids dresses. The bridesmaids had lime green cymbidiums which looked great with their dresses.
The bridesmaids, Claire and Claire's parents all got to the church in a Royal Windsor 1930 style car. The car was partially convertible and made 2 trips to get them all there. Following the wedding it took Claire and Jon to the reception.
For favours Claire and Jon gave each guest a gingerbread man or women, which had been made by Jon's mother. The cake was a choclate cake decorated with truffles and gold spray.
Claire says the best part of the day was "All of the day was fantastic and went so quick, but the best part was sitting at the top table watching everyone enjoy themselves." When asked if she had any tips for future wedding couples Claire says "To stop for a few minutes and take it all in, as it goes by so quickly."
