Cheshire's most stunning rural barn wedding venue

Joanne and Garth's Wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn, Barn Wedding Venue in Cheshire

Joanne & Garth's Summer Wedding

Joanne and Garth's wedding colour scheme was mink, chocolate and ivory.

"We wanted something with a bit of difference and once seeing the venue in person, we knew that this was the venue for us and the search ended there."

Joanne's bridesmaids wore mink and chocolate 50's style dresses finished with a ribbon. The flower girl wore an ivory dress with a fairy wing bow!

Garth, the Bestman and the ushers wore chocolate brown morning suits. The Ushers and Bestman wore an ivory cravat and the groom wore a mink cravat.

Joanne wore a strapless ivory a-line gown in satin with an organza overskirt. It had beading and crystal detail across the top of the bodice and to the side running down through into the medium sized train. Joanne also wore a beaded and crystal short veil to match the dress, a bead and crystal tiara and bespoke matching handmade earrings and bracelet.

Joanne had a tight ivory bouquet of roses with crystal centres and finished with brown willow branches to give a natural look and to match the colour scheme. The bridesmaids had a loose ivory bouquet, finished off with feathers and duck egg blue gem centres.

The tables were dressed in white table linen and scattered with mink and brown petals. The centrepieces comprised of a mirror and tall vase with white lilly's finished with duck egg blue foliage.

As a fan of pigs and keeping with the theme of getting married on a farm, they chose to fill duck egg blue organza bags with five Percy Pigs (a pig-shaped rasberry-flavoured confectionary made by Marks & Spencer) to give as favours to each of the guests. The bridal party was each given a survival pack presented in an organza bag. For example, the bridemsaids had a Bridesmaid Survival Pack!

The wedding cake was a three-tiered sponge cake filled with buttercream and covered with a double layer of chocolate flavoured soft icing. It was decorated with a cascade of chocolate sugar-paste roses. They also had a cheese wedding cake which was beautiful and different.

When asked what the best part of the day was Joanne says, "I can honestly say I enjoyed it all, from getting ready, to saying our vows, then on to the party." When asked if she had any tips for future wedding couples, Joanne says "I would strongly recommend hiring a professional wedding toastmaster to assist organising your guests, especially at photograph time. It saves time and wandering bridesmaids delaying photographs!"
